Average Annual Snowfall: 2.9m – snowmaking supplements natural snow in the Main, Captain’s, Arcadia & Valley View basins.

Why we Love Cardrona:

  • Its laid back terrain
  • It's park (and its 4 pipes) is one of the best in the region with features to satisfy a first time park rider right though to the extremest freestyle skiers/boarders in the country

You should go to Cardrona if:

  • You have members of your group who are learning
  • You want to get in the park as well as ride the whole mountain
  • You want to have a drink at the Cardrona pub after a hard days skiing/riding

Lift Passes: From $80 for an Adult and $ 40 for a child.
Lessons: Lessons and kids programs can be organized on the mountain

How to get there?

Coming from Queenstown, head over the Crown Range towards Wanaka and the access road is just after the Cardrona Village.

Coming from Wanaka,  drive out of town towards Queenstown via the Crown Range Road. If you get to Cardrona Village you have gone to far. If you get to Queenstown then your day is off to a really bad start.

Why we Love TC:

  • It is the largest ski field in the South Island
  • Longest intermediate groomed run (4km)
  • Wicked views accorss Lake Wanaka
  • It has legendary powder days
  • Has the best freeriding terrain in NZ or OZ!

You should go to TC if:

  • Your group are intermediate to advanced skiers or snowbaords who like to ride ski intermediate-advanced off-pieste terrain
  • It's a massive powder day
  • It's a beautiful day, you are too sore to ski/board and you want to enjoy a coffe/wine relax and check out the amazing views

Highest Point: 1500m

  • They have over 50km of track
  • They have a wicked sleding and tubing park

You should go to Snow Farm NZ if:

  • If you want to go to cross country skiing
  • To take the kids to the tubing park
  • Get fit or adventure out to one of the huts on the Pisa range
